Are GMO’s hazardous to my family’s health?

This is a complex issue. In the US and internationally, there are conflicting views and research on the issue of GMO safety.  The fact that so much of the research related to GMO impacts has been funded by private lobby groups on both sides of the issue further complicates the matter.

Currently there is no regulation anywhere in the United States requiring the disclosure of GMO ingredients to consumers. This is in contrast to 58 other countries around the globe who highly regulate the cultivation and sale of genetically modified crops and often require the labeling of foods that contain GMO ingredients.

As parents and founders of Kidfresh, our commitment is to offer all natural foods made with the highest quality, safest possible ingredients.  No compromise made for our children! This is why we’ve decided to use non-GMO ingredients in our products.

When will your packaging carry Non GMO statements?

We began rolling this out in April 2014 and will continue throughout the year depending upon packaging inventory.

Does Kidfresh support the “Just say No to GMO’s” national initiative?

As parents, we believe that the food industry should help parents make their own food choices by providing them with the information they need. We feel that foods containing genetically modified ingredients should be clearly labeled to help consumers to make their own choices. We support mandatory labeling and a consumer’s right to know.

Do you have certification on file for all your raw materials?

YES! We have supporting documentation from all of our ingredient suppliers to document their non-GMO status. This documentation is available upon request.

How often do you test?

All Kidfresh products are tested on a regular basis. In addition, we also test every time there is an ingredient change to any of our products.

Why aren’t Kidfresh products made with organic ingredients?

Organic ingredients are very good but also more expensive; sometimes up to 40% to 50% more and we want our meals to be affordable. Quality for children should not be a luxury, but an everyday concern. We use organic ingredients whenever possible. In addition, we use:

– No artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.

– No hydrogenated oils. No high fructose corn syrup.

– No RBST growth hormones.

And you can be sure we never use a drop of anything artificial –EVER!

What is Sustainable Palm Oil?

Kidfresh uses sustainable palm oil complying with globally agreed standards. Sustainable palm oil offers environmental and social benefits products unlike conventional palm oil.

Overall, the cultivation of sustainable palm oil:

– Protects primary forests and areas with significant concentrations of endangered species, fragile ecosystems, or areas that have fundamental or traditional cultural needs of local communities.

– Focuses on the fair treatment of workers and reducing the use of pesticides and fires.

– Consults with local communities before the development of new plantations on their land.
