Nutrition for the brain!

Let your kids sink their teeth into some real food for thought! Try some of of fun food games and activities to make eating a delicious learning experience.

  • Cut sandwiches into fun shapes using cookie cutters. Use letter and number cookie cutters for an educational angle.
  • Use licorice as a rope for a necklace and string it with looped cereal.
  • Grab your best friend, sister, or brother and build a lemonade stand! Ask for an adults help to make homemade lemonade.
  • Make wooden skewers of alternating marshmallows and fruit. Use food coloring as paint and cotton swabs as paintbrushes to decorate the marshmallows before eating.
  • Build a house out of graham crackers, using frosting as glue. Decorate the house with windows, doors, and more using candies, colored frosting and cake decorations.
  • Write your favorite recipe on a card. Decorate the card and give it as a gift to your teacher.
  • Build a solar system out of fruits. Use a large fruit, like melon, for the Sun and fruit like grapes for smaller planets, such as Pluto.

  • Grow an avocado in a cup. Take toothpicks and stick into an avocado pit. Prop pit into a plastic cup. Add water into cup until it barely touches the pit below. Watch it grow!
